Get Involved
There are many ways you can get involved with us:
1.- You can pray, pray and pray
"pray continually" --
1 Thessalonians 5:17
Because we are doing a new ministry in the United Methodist Church, we really need to be covered by your constant prayers.
2.- You can give monetary support.
"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give,
not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver"
2 Corinthians 9:7
We are supported by the new church development committee and by all the pople and churches who have believed in the minstry to the Hispanic Community. We are a faith based ministry and we need you support. You can make your tax-exempt donation to Manos Hispanas Ministries and send it to:

Or if you want to support a Hispanic Family without giving any money you can buy Walmart gift cards or Telephone cards and send them to the the address above. Groceries are always welcome and a phone call to our families in our countrieas are always a good encouragement.
3.- You can give yourself
"Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm.
Let nothing move you.
Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord,
because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain" -- 1 Corinthians 15:58

Here are some ways you can connect with hispanics/latinos!
Open your life to be a friend
- Invite a family to your home for lunch or dinner. Have them bring a traditional dish from their country and make it a cultural experience.
- Help them to get their Driver Certificate,help them find a better place to live.
- Learn to understand their culture, never make fun of it!
- Provide transportation to shopping places, doctor appointments and church service.
- Teach them the "how's of USA": how to go to the supermarket, to know the dollar coins, how to pay bills, etc. Don't take of granted what you already know. Just remember they come from different country than yours.
- Find ways to spend time with their children, organize a "fiesta"(party).

Get to know the local Hispanic/Latino Leaders
- There are many people involved with the Hispanic/Latino community. Lear who are they and how you can help them. Visit a Hispanic Church Service, talk to the Health Department, get to know the Certified Interpreters.
Offer your help if you know the language
- If you know the language, there are many way you can get involved with the Hispanic/Latino community. Interpretation and translation is always needed. Ask how you can help the different organizations in your Local Community
Share with others the gift of knowing English
- Teach English so people can communicate.
- Mentor a new-arrived family and help the children get better in their understanding of this new language.
- Organize daily ESL classes, get a group of friends to help you.
- Teach ESL in your Local Hispanic Congregation.
- Start a class of survival English.
- Organize a Summer camp for Hispanic Children.
- Contact the Local schools to see how you can help new chidren with their school work.
