Who started Manos Hispanas?

Miguel is from a city in the central region of Mexico called Leon, Guanajuato. Paula is from one the biggest city in the world, Mexico City with 25 million people. Miguel is the senior pastor of Manos Hispanas Fellowship known as Connection
(a multicultural fellowship in covenant and partnership with Cookeville  First United Methodist Church). They have been serving the United Methodist Church since August 2001.

Miguel is a licensed local pastor and he is working toward become an elder. Part of Miguel's desire is to live a real and fulfilling life in Christ. Miguel is the Hispanic coordinator for the Cookeville District and he developed the vision to saturate all this area with Hispanic/Multicultural fellowships to build bridges between the two communities. Hispanic Hands Mininistries became a model ministry for the Tennessee Conference of the United Methodist Church. Because of Miguel and Paula’s work the Cookeville district is the most active district on Hispanic Ministries with 3 churches: one in Cookeville, one in Monterey and one in Crossville.

Miguel and Paula live in Cookeville, TN. They don't have any children. They love Mexico and the country they now call home: The United States. They are always advocating for the Hispanic community and helping the Americans to be informed and open to help other cultures. They understand how to live in grace, love and forgiveness.

"Our heart's desire is to work with churches to help them find the grace of Jesus Christ so they can become open doors to all the younger and older sons and daughters who are away from the Father's house. Not in a religious way, but in true love. We would like to see Christ's body as part of spiritual communities recognizing their brokenness and helping others without judging. We would like to become an open door to the broken ones, knowing that we are also broken." Miguel and Paula August 2005
